During a power outage you can be left without heating, lighting, or running water. You can lessen the impact of a power outage by taking the time to prepare in advance.
If an emergency happens in your area, it may take emergency workers some time to reach you. Are you prepared to be without power? You should be prepared to take care of yourself and your family for a minimum of 72 hours.
Preparing the following supplies in advance can help lessen the impact of an emergency situation:
Water
Flashlights
Batteries, candles, and matches
Non-perishable food
Medical supplies
Alternative heat source
Battery operated radio
Generator
