During a power outage you can be left without heating, lighting, or running water. You can lessen the impact of a power outage by taking the time to prepare in advance. If an emergency happens in your area, it may take emergency workers some time to reach you. Are you prepared to be without power? You should be prepared to take care of yourself and your family for a minimum of 72 hours, especially if you have critical items that you require to run.
Having an emergency pack with items such as the list to the right will help you get through 72 hours, in the event of an emergency. Visit www.getprepared.gc.ca for more information on how to prepare in the event of an emergency.
